Burning of the Buffalo Woolen Mills, Near Wellsburg.

Special to the Intelligencer.

LA GRANGE, O., July 4, 1874.

At an early hour this morning the Buffalo Woolen Mills, located one mile from Wellsburg, on Buffalo Creek, owned by Wm. Briggs & Bro., were burned to the ground. The fire originated in the dyeing room, and almost as soon as discovered the roof was in a mass of flames, and all efforts to stop it were unavailing. The loss to the proprietors will be heavy, including the mill and from three to four thousand pounds of wool and a quantity of manufactured goods, jeans, woolen yarns, &c. The insurance on the building was only $2,500, in the Franklin, of your city.
