Providence, in America, July 16. Yesterday arriv'd here, the Sloop, in Distress, from Jamaica for Cape Fear. The Occasion of her putting in here was as follows, Coming through the Windward Passage she was brought too by a Spanish Guarda-Costa, and after a strict Search, finding no Money on Board, the Spaniards were exasperated to that Degree, that they used the People with such Cruelty, that there were only three Men able to hand the Deck, which obliged them to put into this Port for more Assistance to carry the Vessel to the Northward.
