Full Text

Extract of a letter from Venice, June 20.

This republic is at present under much consternation, owing to some proceedings of the Russian ships now in the Adriatic; three sail of large ships of war and a frigate, who met with some damages off the coast of Malachia, put into the harbour of Page, or Glissa, in the island of the same name, about two miles from the Malachian coast. They obliged the inhabitants to furnish them with provisions, and every thing necessary for the repair of their ships; and have likewise built two forts at the mouth of the harbour, under pretence of a guard against the Turks.
