Full Text

Here is an extract from the Boston Courier, the leading federal paper in Massachusetts. It shows that the whigs are beginning at last to open their eyes to their danger. But it is no use; they may as well take it patiently, for every coon is destined to undergo the operation of being flayed in November next:

"It will not do to trust to present appearances, for certain we are, that a great battle is to be fought, much work is to be done, and we have yet a powerful enemy to conquer. We place no reliance upon the quarrels in the Democratic party.—They will not weaken it in the least. The leaders dispute as to the means by which they shall accomplish their ends, but they have one common bond of union, and rather than allow the Whigs success, they will give up private griefs, and combine all their efforts to accomplish the one desired object, leaving the final disposition of offices and rewards to be settled after the election."
