Circuit Court
Is Held

Union county juries freed four defendants yesterday in the September adjourned term of circuit court, on appeals taken from the city police court. Judge L. S. Britt reviewed cases, making 24 dispositions, as follows:

Appeal from city police court dismissed: Otis Goodson, J. A. Leach, Mrs. Willie Green, F. L. Sherman, A. Squyres, C. W. Turner, E. W. McDonald, Roy Wilson (four counts), W. C. Turner and W. F. Smith. Exceptions were filed by Sherman and Mrs. Green.

The city moved to dismiss three counts against R. Harper, and succeeding jury trials freed the following: J. R. Packard, Mrs. A. J. Edwards, C. S. Stovall and J. K. Askew.

In the state of Arkansas versus Jennie McGough, one count was dismissed on payment of costs, and court nolle prossed a second charge of assault to kill, McGough pleading guilty to simple assault, with a fine of $10. Judgment by default was reached in the Republic Supply company versus Miles Drilling company et al, in the amount of $314.34.
