Full Text

Stealing a Ring.

On Saturday last Chas. Brown went into J. M. Emerson's store and wanted to see some diamond rings. He was shown some, but none suited him, and he left. After he gone it was found that one ring, valued at $150, was missing. The matter was placed in the hands of Private Detective Schaezler, who sighted his man on the train to Laredo. He became very friendly with him, played poker, and drew enough out of him to justify his arrest. Brown suspected Schaezler. When the train arrived at Laredo he contrived to give him the slip. He, however, traced the man yesterday, and found the ring in his possession. Schaezler, his prisoner, and the ring are now on the way to San Antonio and are expected to arrive here to-day.
