Full Text

The Post-Master-General.

The Petersburg Republican mentions the fact, that since the appointment of the present Post Master General, the northern mail has only failed once.—We "have an idea" that Mr. McLean is the right sort of a man to cleanse the Augean Stable. Report speaks of him in the best terms, as a perfect man of business, upright, independent, zealous for the public good, and indefatigable in his attention to the affairs of his department; in a word, just the man to make Deputies and Contractors toe the mark.
