Another Humbug Exposed.—The following has been going the rounds of the whig newspapers as one of the "Benign Results" of the Protective Tariff':
"Factory Girl's Savings.—It is stated that the amount of money deposited by the female operatives in the Lowell Savings Bank, is equal to twelve hundred and fifty dollars for every factory girl in the place. Some of them have saved two thousand dollars each! the interest of which would yield a handsome support."
The Lowell Patriot copies it, and says:
"Twelve hundred and fifty dollars to each factory girl in Lowell, would amount to only eleven million two hundred and fifty thousand dollars! Twelve dollars and fifty cents apiece would exceed the amount deposited by factory girls."
