Mavis Rivers Makes
Bow At Night Club

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (ANP) Mavis Rivers, new Samoa-born Capitol recording star, made her night club debut here Friday (Feb. 26) when she began a four-week engagement at the Interlude on Hollywood's glittering Sunset Strip.

After the release of her first single, "Take a Number," last May Miss Rivers was named one of the most promising new artists of the year in polls conducted by The Billboard and The Cash Box, two of the record industry's leading trade publications.

She also has another album on the market titled "Hooray for Love."

She was unknown to the American public 10 months ago.
