MONDAY, APRIL 11, 1803.
The result of the recent election in this State, is highly auspicious to the cause of federal principles; and evinces that rapid change of public opinion, which must soon check the wild career of jacobonism, and correct its errors. It is through the influence of the State governments that our political reformation must be effected. We are happy therefore, to assure our readers of the re-election of those faithful characters who have filled the most important offices with honor to themselves and advantage to the community. And it is gratifying to find in several instances those elected to office who have been the objects of Presidential persecution.
His Excellency Caleb Strong had in Boston, 1864 votes for Governor, and Hon. Elbridge Gerry had 881.—His Honor Edward H. Robbins had 1661 for Lt. Governor, and Hon. Farmer Bowdoin 1033.—The federal Ticket for Senators for Suffolk county, succeeded by a majority of 621 votes.
The last Boston paper contains returns from 102 towns—which give Gov. Strong 12412—Mr. Gerry, 5785—leaving Mr. Strong a majority of 6627.
Mr. Robbins has been generally voted for as Lt. Governor, on the same ticket with Gov. Strong.

The votes in the above towns were generally for Mr. Robbins as Lt. Governor.
VOTES FOR SENATORS IN CUMBERLAND.
t..
We have not received sufficient returns from the other counties in this district to enable us to determine the result of votes for Senators.
One of the means which the jacobins resorted to, in the eastern counties in order to carry their point at the late election of Senators, was to circulate a false report of the death of General Knox, one of the federal candidates.
