Those Chicago Crooks Are the Limit: Steal Dog Guarding Machine
CHICAGO, Jan. 5.—Charles W. Murphy, former owner of the Cubs, who says that the squabbles he engaged in while a baseball magnate were pink teas compared to the present day imbroglios, has other troubles. Murphy is minus his Irish water spaniel, due to a trip downtown Saturday by his chauffeur.
The chauffeur parked in front of a department store in order to make a purchase, and left the dog in the front seat to guard the car. When he returned the car was there but some one had copped the dog. Charles W. wants the dog back and asks the thief to have a heart.
