Idaho's Growth as Indicated by the Votes.

Coeur d'Alene Miner.

The total vote of Idaho this year was something over 18,000, a gain of nearly 4000 in the past two years. Idaho is just now assuming position favorable to rapid growth. The next two years will witness an increase greater than any previous five years, we predict. Indeed it would not be surprising if the vote of Idaho two years hence approached 30,000. It was impossible for Idaho to grow fast in population and wealth restricted as she was by territorial laws and with mere pittances in the way of national appropriations. Wise State laws and more liberal appropriations will bring about the change.

Idaho has the natural resources. There are millions of acres to be brought under cultivation by immense systems of irrigation. There are acres and acres of the richest land in the world to be reclaimed at comparatively small expense. More money will be spent in public surveys, and this, too, will induce settlement. Favorable and needed mining laws will be passed. Everything tends to show that Idaho has hardly begun to grow.
