Full Text

Novel Mode of "going To WAR." The vehicle in which the Duke of Orleans and Nemours took their departure from Paris for the field of battle, was of a very uncouth construction, and certainly not much like the equipage which English Dukes Royal would have put their bodies and baggage into, though, probably, far more appropriate. It is an immense machine; something like an omnibus, and was drawn by six horses, three abreast. It is divided into three compartments; the first of which was occupied by the Dukes and their Aids-de-Camp; the second formed a bed-room, and the third was a kitchen, which contained a servant of all work, and a very modest set of culinary apparatus.
