Oscar Meyer, Jr., manager of the Hendersonville Airport, and Felmet Wilson, Canton aviator, returned on Tuesday night after attending the air races at Miami. The trip was made by air. Mr. Meyer flying his Taylor Cub. The two aviators left Hendersonville a week ago Monday and flew to Charlotte. There they joined a number of other Taylor Cub pilots, in a Taylor Cub convoy, sponsored by the manufacturers. The party meeting at Charlotte led by way of Columbia, S. C., Savannah, Ga., and Jacksonville. Overnight stops were made at Orlando and West Palm Beach, where the aviators were feted. Other Cub pilots joined the convoy at West Palm Beach, and 150 strong, the party then flew to Miami. The convoy split up returning, and Mr. Meyer reported considerable difficulty on the return trip, due to strong head winds. He landed here late Tuesday afternoon. The entire trip by the 150 Cubs was made without mishap, and the party enjoyed a splendid program at Miami, Mr. Meyer reported.
