Full Text

The Danville (Va.) Times extracts the following from a private letter of a correspondent:

Since the war I have not sickened and pined away in despair, bemoaning the unhappy face of my country. I have gone to work and have prospered. I once felt disposed to desert our State, as many have done; so far from now being dissatisfied with my present locality, I am eccentric enough to believe that there is not a spot in the wide world which affords better prospects for a man of real energy and enterprise, with a little capital, than Southside Virginia.
