To Arrange For a Silver Convention.
Kansas City, July 11.—A special to The Times from Jefferson City says the agony over a meeting of the Democratic state central committee to take action in regard to calling a silver convention is at an end. The committee will be convened in St. Louis next week, July 15, at 10 a. m. The secretary of the committee received a telegram from Chairman Maffitt of St. Louis stating in effect that he is now satisfied that a majority of the Democrats of the state desire the committee to be again convened for the purpose of considering the advisability of calling a state silver convention. In conclusion he directed the secretary to issue a call for the date named.
