BOSTON, December 20.

By a gentleman who arrived in town on Tuesday last, from New-York, which place he left the 13th inst. we learn, that on that day a fleet of upwards of 120 sail of shipping, convoyed by the Robust, of 74 guns, several frigates and cruising ships, sailed for England, the latter are to leave them in a certain latitude, and return to New York :-That in the Robust went Earl Cornwallis with his suit-That upwards of 6000 inhabitants of New-York, refugees, &c. are gone in the above fleet, as also Judas Arnold, who took passage on board the Edward, a 20 gun ship --That a general dissatisfaction exists with those at New-York, on the conduct of Gen. Clinton towards Cornwallis, who declare publickly, that he wantonly suffered the Earl with his army to be sacrificed to the will of the allied army, and obliquely charge him with corresponding with Gen. Washington --That the refugees are in a state of despondency, firmly believing the evacuation of that city early in the spring.
