Committee on Un-American Affairs today for his week-end attack
on at least six high officials in the
Board of Economic
Warfare in a
letter to Vice-President Wallace, the
board chairman.
Wallace

issued a
statement
Describing
the
Dies
charges as worthy of having been
made by Axis propagandists.
Representatives Cox (D-Ga) and
Mason (R-Ill) attacked the em-
ployment by the board of Maurice
Perlmutter as principal economist, and
said Dies' charge against him was
amply supported.

that the present was the wrong time
to renew crusades against Commun-
