Three Traffic Tricks

Just how slippery is it today?

Ask yourself this question and answer it by trying a quick stop on a quiet street before entering traffic. It will relieve your mind of all doubt and help you to drive more comfortably and more safely.

Most of the trouble experienced in gear shifting in traffic is the result of failing to keep the foot off the accelerator when the engine should be idling. Nervous tension is the explanation.

Stop a little behind the white line at intersections. You can then start up when the traffic officer starts to swing the sign to "Go" without leading him to suspect that you're impatient. Gives you a flying start and insures you against crossing the line too soon.
