Sandles Made Secretary of State Agricultural Bureau.
Columbus, O., Jan. 27. -The state board of agriculture, with the appointees of Governor Harmon-Jacob A. Beidler of Lake county and J. F. Cross of Fayette county-sitting as members, reorganized the department by electing the following officers and attaches:
President, L. W. Kilgore of Madison county; vice president, William Miller, Ottawa county; secretary, A. P. Sandles, Putnam county; assistant secretary, J. W. Fleming, Franklin county; treasurer, C. W. McFarland, Crawford county; chief clerk, E. J. Filbin, Cuyahoga county; R. H. Ramsdell, Erie county, fertilizer inspector; N. E. Shaw, Franklin county, chief inspector orchards and nurseries.
Chief interest centered in the selection of a secretary. Mr. Sandles, a Democrat, succeeds T. L. Calvert, a Republican, with an increase in salary from $2,700 to $2,800. Messrs. Brown and Bailey, members of the board removed by Governor Harmon, made no remonstrance.
