Full Text
A REPENTANT BURGLAR. Some time ago Smithey, leader of the New Melodron Orchestra, lost a very valuable violin. Yesterday he received a note informing him where it could be found, winding up with the assurance that the individual who had taken it was sorry therefor. Smithey straightway repaired to the spot designated, and sure enough recovered the missing property. As a literary curiosity we give the note alluded to verbatim et literatim, which is as follows: "Smithey Yor fidel is it Apile ov lumber go to Krosis korner And tern to the rite til yo Com tu a Pilo oy lumber at both sides it is in the Left hau cide pile yo must cros tho streto i am sory." -Inland Empire.
