G. A. R. AND LADIES HOLD INSTALLATION

James M. Bice Is New Commander of Post and Mrs. R. R. Cole Is President of Circle No. 3.

Dan McCook Post of the Grand Army of the Republic and the Ladies of the Grand Army held joint public installation of officers Saturday afternoon, January 6, 1917, in the I. O. O. F. hall.

W. H. Humphrey, commander of Dan McCook Post, G. A. R. called the meeting to order. Robert H. Barnes, departmental commander installed the following officers of Dan McCook Post:

Commander, James H. Bice; senior vice commander, W. I. Greenhow; junior vice commander, W. G. Sampson; chaplain and patriotic instructor W. W. Humphrey; adjutant, C. L. Longley; officer of the guard, G. T. Crater.

Mrs. W. W. Humphrey, department president of the Ladies of the G. A. R. installed the following officers of circle No. 3, Ladies of the G. A. R.:

President, Mrs. R. R. Cole; senior vice president, Mrs. Mary Mahnkin; junior vice president, Mrs. R. H. Barnes; chaplain, Mrs. Sarah Trammer; treasurer, Mrs. I. H. Brasears; secretary, Mrs. John R. Ault; patriotic instructor, Mrs. W. W. Humphrey; conductor, Mrs. Paul Smith; guard, Mrs. Kimes; assistant conductor, Mrs. Drury; assistant guard, Mrs. Bemis.

Mrs. D. E. Regan's mandolin orchestra rendered the following delightful selections: "Willow Grove, March," "Aloha Oe" "Teach Me to Smile," "Marching Through Georgia," "America," "Star Spangled Banner." The personnel of the orchestra was Ruth Hewitt, Ada Avant, Anna Budrow, Mildred Witt, Evelyn Witt, Helen Cairncross, Muriel Stansbury, Kenneth Moore, Ruby Hughes, Mrs. D. E. Regan.

Refreshments were served by the Ladies of G. A. R. The hall was decorated with flags, bunting and streamers in the national colors.
