Full Text

BOSTON, June 7.

Though we do not ascertain Holland to be in a state of insurrection, it appears, from one fact, to be in an unusually perilous situation. A Lawyer, appointed Minister of Justice refused to accept the office, although the law punishes such refusal with 5 years exile, and total loss of the right of voting; and the salary of the Minister of Justice is 5000 guilders per ann. The Dutch paper, which contains this article, adds, that so frequent are the refusals to accept important offices, that compulsion must be resorted to, or the Government will be disorganized.
