Full Text

Will Run the Race.—It having been rumored that Mr. Stanford, the Republican nominee for Governor, would withdraw upon the eve of the election in favor of Mr. Curry, the Broderick Gubernatorial candidate, or in other words, sell out the Republicans to Broderick. Mr. Stanford has been addressed upon the subject, and in reply most emphatically denies that such is his intention. He advises the Republicans to stand firm to their colors, and says, if the Brods entertain opinions in consonance with the Republican creed, let them come into the fold. For himself he is not willing to sink the Republican organization and march under the banner of a party that has no existence outside of California.
