Mr. GREENLEAF,

AGREEABLY to the request of your ingenious correspondent, Mr. TIMOTHY PUZZLE BRAIN, I have, by the assistance of several of my amiable female acquaintance, discovered the key of his ANAGRAM, and send it to be communicated to the public through the same medium. If you find that the versification is not altogether intolerable, please to insert it tomorrow, and oblige

ICHABOD SOLUTION.

March 27, 1788.

LADIES, who're modest, amiable and fair.
Oft', to conceal their charms, a veil do wear;
Trace out this word and'twill disclose some guile.
That, in their brightest hue, Harlots are vile;
Again transpose with care, and you will trace.
Levi, a name of th' ancient Hebrew race;
Change it again once more, and you'll perceive
The first desire of all mankind's to live;
Lastly, by another transposition, show,
That all bad men the hydra evil do.
