We hear by a private Letter from Gibraltar, that 3 Mortar-Pieces and 30,000 Spaniards are arrived at the Batteries near that Town.

November 26. By the Joannah from Zant, but last from Gibraltar, we have Advice, that the Garrison of that Fortress kept a strict Look-out, and 200 Men mounting Guard every Morning; and that if any Soldier fail'd giving the Watch-Word, which goes round the Garrison at certain Times, he underwent a severe Whipping; and that all were ready for giving the Spaniards a warm Reception if they attempted to make an Attack.
