Full Text

We hear from good authority, that his excellency the governor, by advice of council, has put a stop to any further enlistments of troops ordered to be raised by the legislature in its last session, agreeably to the powers vested in him by the celebrated resolution of the 19th of June last, for quieting the disorders in this commonwealth: --and, at the same time, has directed the officer in command, to reduce the number in service, to two hundred men, officers included, on the 20th of August next ensuing.--We most sincerely congratulate the public on this event, as it carries the very pleasing evidence of the commotions which have disturbed this state in the course of the last winter, being in a fair way to a happy adjustment.
