Long Prairie River Diversion Studied

A crew of eight surveyors from the works division of the Minnesota SERA (State Emergency Relief administration) has examined the topography of the southwestern part of Todd county to determine the feasibility of diverting part of the water from the Long Prairie river into Lake Osakis.

The findings of the survey will be awaited with interest by many, who have long deplored the falling level of one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the county.

If a dam were to be constructed in the river at a suitable point, a considerable expanse of low land in the vicinity would have to be flooded, necessitating the construction of bridges for township and county road crossings.
