BOSTON April 21st, 1773.
Mr. Draper,
As some Persons in this Town, are unweariedly endeavouring to make the good People of this Province believe that his Excellency our Governor is their Enemy, it may perhaps be of public Service, by preventing wrong Impressions being made on honest Minds to publish the following, which you may be well assured was received last Week from a Gentleman of Probity in London, and who was well able to ascertain himself of the Truth of what he has wrote.
Extract of a Letter from a Gentleman in London, dated Feb. 20, 1773, to his Correspondent in Boston.
"Governor Hutchinson is in high Estimation amongst the most sensible Men here; and notwithstanding the Attempts of his Enemies, his Reputation daily encreases, as every letter that comes from him to the Ministry is replete to the Province, for which he is the greatest and most powerful Advocate."
