TO MOVE FOR NEW TRIAL.

Becker's Counsel Appears to Give Notice of Motion.

New York, Feb. 20.—Martin T. Manton, counsel for former Lieutenant Charles Becker, appeared today at the office of District Attorney Perkins, and served notice that on February 25 he will move for a new trial for his client before Justice Weeks in the Supreme Court. He will base his argument on three statements made by James T. Marshall, the Philadelphia negro, who testified for the State at Becker's second trial. Manton claims Marshall now says his testimony was untrue.
