Columbia, March 2.-(By the Associated Press)-An expression of appreciation for the reception accorded Governor Brewster recently when he stopped in Columbia on his Maine to Southland tour has been received by Governor Thomas G. McLeod.
A letter received by the South Carolina governor from A. L. T. Cummings, secretary of the committee of the Maine state chamber of commerce which had charge of the governor's trip has this to say.
"The committee in charge of the details of the Maine to Southland pilgrimage in which Governor and Mrs. Brewster and 150 other Maine men and women took part, has asked me to write you expressing our appreciation of the delightful reception given our party in your city February 3.
"We were exceedingly glad that we were urged to include in our stopping places the city of Columbia, which our tourist agent had overlooked in making up the tentative itinerary.
"The reception accorded us in your city was spontaneous and so cordial that we count it among the most delightful features of our entire trip."
