Stirred to Anger As
Negroes Buy Sleeper
Ticket to New York.

Goldsboro, N. C.—A ridiculous manifestation of racial envy and prejudice was given expression here Monday when Mr. and Mrs. Allen Moses, a well-to-do colored couple living in this community left on a trip to New York. Mr. Moses had secured Pullman accommodations to New York, a common occurrence in various sections of the South where hate is not permitted to outweigh justice and consideration. But it appears that Goldsboro whites are not of that class.
One of these broad-minded (?) and liberal-hearted(?) citizens who is hardly able to raise railroad fare to the next station said it was the first time in the history of this village that a Negro "had the nerve" to buy Pullman tickets here. And this same gentleman is sponsor for the promise of a Ku Klux reception for Moses when the latter returns to his home and fireside.
