Imperial county's unemployment total is 2,000, Russel Bailey, State Employment office director, announced Wednesday.
Approximately 150 men were assigned to agriculture and to construction jobs at Imperial dam and along the All American canal within the last 10 days. Departure of small numbers of the migratory agricultural group lightened the load of unemployment to some extent. he said.
"Employment opportunities still are scarce," Bailey declared, "but work in the carrot fields may increase."
