A meeting was held last week to consider the advisability of forming a company to introduce the Edison incandescent light in this place. E. D. Blackwell, A. J. Sibley and F. W. Morse were appointed a committee to investigate the matter, and a meeting of interested persons will be called as soon as they shall be ready to report. We understand that the formation of an electric light company is quite probable. Its object would be the lighting of stores and residences, and it is said that the Edison company offers to put in eighty lights of thirty-two candle-power each, to take the place of the fifty gas jets and twenty-two kerosene lamps which now light the village, for from $600 to $750 and the water necessary to run the dynamos. The offer is certainly worthy of careful investigation by the village authorities.
