From the Boston News-Letter, May 4.
On the present Expedition.
HOUSE. Sons of Earth, to War, to War
Revenge your Country's Wrongs
Let no Excuse you now debar,
To each Man it belongs.
Don't let a vile Banditti Crew,
With Blood Hounds of the Woods,
(Who Night and Day your Blood pursue)
Destroy your Lives and Goods!
The Infants tore from Mother's Breast,
The Hatchet laid in deep!
The Fathers, Sons, and all the rest
Are murder'd whilst asleep!
Religion, Liberty's at Stake;
Your country and your ALL!
Therefore no Hesitation make,
Go forth both Great and Small.
'Tis Time, --high Time, for One and All
With Vengeance to pursue;
Aloud both King and Country call;
Let no Blame lie with you:
Laurels and Honours ready lies
For each brave Man of Merit:
You've got the Prussian Exercise.
Don't want true English Spirit.
When you've embark'd and spread your
May Heav'n you All protect
May gentle Zephyrs (Western Gale)
Cause you to sail dire!
May Neptune still the raging Sea,
And waft you softly o'er!
May Tritons trumpet all the Way
'Til you get safe on Shore.
When landed fix your Standard high,
That all may dread around:
Let no white Rag be seen to fly.
Hereafter on that Ground:
Strike, Strike, Strike home, and let 'em feel
This once true English Courage:
Quick, quick make use of all your Steel
Let there be no Demurrings:
Sweep all clean off like Noah's Flood.
Let not one Soul remain:.
In after Times with English Blood
Their cruel Hands to stain;
But if they dare to stand it out,
And risque a hearty Bombing
You only need send in a Scout,
And tell 'em P--P-L's coming
To French Colours.
