IN THE POLICE COURT
A Question As to Who Took Harrington's Honey.

There was a good deal of feeling shown between George Harrington, who keeps a cigar store on South Main street, and Frank Coleman, 19, whom he accused of taking a dime from a chewing gum machine yesterday afternoon. Harrington's son George testified that he saw Coleman open the base of the machine and abstract the coin from it. Harrington would have told a long story had he not been cut short. He said he suspected Coleman, and so forth.

Coleman, who seemed an honest and rugged young fellow, said he did not take any money from the machine. He and Harrington's son had been fooling with the machine, seeing which of them could open it the faster, and that it could not be operated with a dime. Only a nickel could operate it. He was arrested and searched immediately after leaving the store by Officer Flaherty and not a cent was found on him. He was again searched in the police station with the same result. He would have told a good deal about young Harrington if he were allowed, and said something about "getting square" with him.

Probation Officer Combellack said the boy's uncle and aunt are anxious that he join the navy, but he has no idea of doing anything of the like. He said he is working now and has been for some months.

The matter was continued to next Saturday on the boy's own recognizance, and Mr. Combellack shall investigate his surrounding meantime.
