Our Pavements.

During the past few days we have had our attention called to the very dilapidated condition of our pavements, a number of our business men complaining that it is an injury to their business to have them kept in this condition. In many places you find holes large enough for a moderate sized man to drop through, while in other places the ends of the planks are rotten and have lost their fastenings and when stepped upon at one end the other flies up and trips the pedestrian who may be the last to put his foot forward. Will our Borough Council look to this matter, before the citizens have to pay an additional tax to remunerate some unfortunate person who may break a leg in the vain attempt to perambulate our streets?
Wake up, gentlemen!
