Full Text

LONDON, October 6.

It is said there is now held at a house not many miles distant from Holborn, where the members meet for no other purpose than to ridicule religion, and blaspheme their Maker; that if any member mentioned the names of God or Religion, except in a ludicrous or profane manner, he forfeits one shilling; and if any of their body is seen going into, or coming out of church, meeting, or any other place set apart for religious worship, he is fined half a crown, &c. &c.

Should, at this time of day, be any set of men so totally to set God at defiance, and make a mock of his holy religion; -- yet such monsters there are, and such a diabolical club is said to be at present subsisting.
