Untold Damage In New Flood Rain-Swollen Colorado Breaks Banks, Inundating Countryside.

COLORADO CITY, Tex., June 20.-(INS)-The rain-swollen Colorado river left its banks at Colorado City today, inundating many houses along the banks and backing up into the business district.

Thousands of dollars of property damage were done, especially to bales of cotton stored for shipment. Two bridges, one a highway artery to Sterling City and another, a Texas and Pacific railroad bridge, were washed out. The bridge on U. S. Highway 80, was under water but believed to be holding firm.

City authorities, federal government agencies and the Red Cross were co-operating in relieving suffering of those who were forced from their homes. At least one hundred persons were so afflicted, but no loss of life was reported.
