Mr. and Mrs. Harvey W. Parrish were in Nogales Tuesday on business from Ruby. Mr. Parrish, justice of the peace in that long-unheard-from community, kindly consented to disseminate the news that has been accumulating in that section.
A crew of Eagle Picher Mining Company employees is removing buildings and machinery from the old Montana Mine property and hauling the material to San Xavier where a new mine is under production, and part of it to Sahuarita where the company operates a mill.
Charles G. Boice and A. H. Noon have been shipping a large number of cattle to market from the Ruby district this fall.
About eight bucks were taken out of the area during hunting season by Nogales, Tucson and Ruby hunters.
The present population of Ruby is down to around 25 and practically all are old residents of that section.
Justice of the peace business is lousy, according to Parrish. "I just haven't got a chance," he said. "We've torn down the old saloon building in Ruby and the only thing a fellow can get to drink out there is water."
