Nearly 1,000 Teen-Agers Arrested In Philadelphia

9-Year-Old Girl Gagged To Death

TOKYO (UP) Army officials said today that a mysterious assailant, object of Japan's biggest postwar manhunt, killed 9-year-old Susan Rothschild by forcing a gag down her throat.

Spokesmen said an autopsy showed "numerous bruises and scratches around the neck which indicated no instrument for strangulation was used."

Col. Jacquard H. Rothschild of Chicago, a chemical officer stationed near Tokyo, found his pretty daughter partly clothed and face down in a three-foot-deep drainage ditch two blocks from their home Saturday night.
