Full Text
Coroner Robinson of Long Island City received the following despatch from Lincoln, Nebraska, yesterday afternoon:
“Dear Sir: I see by the public prints that you have addressed me regarding the exhuming and examination of my brother’s remains. It is my desire that the full facts be known.
You will please have the body buried and examined as soon as possible.
Dora Buck.”
The Coroner said yesterday:
“I cannot say definitely what I shall do until I see Coroner Levy of New York to-morrow morning. I probably shall wait until I get a letter from Miss Buck before taking steps toward digging up her brother’s body.
Coroner Levy and I will agree upon what action we shall take to-morrow on the despatch. We shall have to be sure that the despatch really comes from Miss Buck.
The keeper of Evergreens Cemetery says he will not allow us to take up the body; That remains to be seen.
If Miss Buck thinks her brother was buried under false pretences she has the right to demand an investigation.
I think the law requires us to help her.”
