Mr. and Mrs. Edsel Paul carried Willa Ree, their daughter, to Columbia, Sunday, July 10, to join other representatives from South Carolina.
Theme of the convention was Home, the Hub of Good Citizenship, which was emphasized in general sessions, discussion groups, and panel discussions.
Other highlights of the convention included meeting girls from all over the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, a tour of Washington, a boat trip on the Potomac, a banquet, an American Pageant, "Papers of Fire," presented at the Sylvan Theater on the Washington Monument Grounds.
Throughout the week devotionals, relaxers and group singing were presented by FHA girls.
Willa Ree returned home Saturday with many ideas to present to the Loris chapter of the Future Homemakers of America. Horry County has been affiliated with the national FHA movement only three years.
