Washington, D.C. Aware of the shortness of time before the adjournment of the present session of Congress, the Washington Bureau of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People announced this week that it was cooperating with the NAACP branches throughout the country in an effort to get signatures of their respective congressmen affixed to the discharge petition on the Gavagan anti-lynch bill.

The Association stated that the revival of activity on the anti-lynching bill would halt the wave of lynchings set off by the Miss. outbreak when within one week two fourteen year old boys charged with attempted rape and 1 49 year old man already sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a white man, were lynched.
