Dec. 11. A letter from St. Germains, dated Dec. 3d, Says; "I had the honour to attend Lady Rochford at her presentation to the Royal Family of France, where her Ladyship made a very splendid appearance, and was attended by a great number of English Nobility and Gentlemen; among whom were the Duke of Northumberland, Lords Carlisle, Carr, Mazarine, Mr. Selwyn, Mr. Bobby, &c. A stool was set, opposite to the Queen's chair, whereon the Ambassadress sat during her audience; and the same mark of distinction was observed throughout all the other presentations. After the ceremony, a most magnificent dinner was provided in the palace of Versailles, by the Duke de Choiseul, for the Ambassadress and her company, where all the English, and some French Ladies and Gentlemen of great distinction, dined. During Lady Rochford's audience of the Queen, the King came into the Queen's apartment, and made his compliments to the Ambassadress; the same address was made use of by his Highness the Dauphin, and the Duke de Provence, during her Ladyship's presentation to the Dauphiness."

The Countess of Rochford, on her late presentation at Versailles, was carried from her hotel in the Queen's coach, preceded by the coach of the Introductor to Ambassadors, and followed by two of her Excellency's coaches; eight of her Gentlemen, dressed in scarlet and gold, preceded the coaches, and the livery servants were ranged on each side.
