Boston, Friday, Jan 2, 1852,

An extract from a letter dated Valparaiso, November 30, says "Our revolutionary troubles continue, and for the past two months no business of consequence has been done. On the 25th ult. quite a battle took place between the Government forces and the insurgents, in which thirty men were killed and seventy wounded, but the Government gained the day and dispersed the rebels. We are daily expecting news of a grand battle in Chillan, 300 miles distant, between the Government forces and the insurgents, which will decide the fate of Chili for years to come. No doubt Government will succeed, but it is a serious affair for commercial interests."
