Celebrate Their Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary
New Haven, Ct., Sept. 8.
The exercises commemorative of the 250th anniversary of the settlement of the towns of Guilford and Madison, the latter formerly East Guilford, which is to continue three days, began today. In the morning exercises were held in the Congregational church at Madison, by Dr. Webb of Madison, who read an original poem, "The Puritan Sabbath."
Rev. J. A. Gallup delivered an address on the "Ecclesiastical history of East Guilford."
