Elbert Hurst Made Corporal Receives Award

He's a Corporal now.

Promotion of Elbert C. Hurst, of Roanoke Rapids, from the rank of private to that of Corporal, has been announced at the Infantry Replacement Training Center at Fort McClellan, Ala. The son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Hurst, Cpl. Hurst is married to the former Viola Reaves, and they have one child. His home is at 1105 Henry Street, Roanoke Rapids.

Prior to his induction last August 4, he was active in sports, particularly baseball and football.

Cpl. Hurst is assigned to Co. B of the 29th Training Battalion, where he is an instructor.
