THE OHIO PATRIOT
The editor of the (New Lisbon) "Ohio Patriot" indulges in a strain of libelous, low, dirty invective against Judge Pearce, the President Judge of the Common Pleas in this circuit.
At the last term of the Court in Columbiana county, numerous remonstrances were presented to the Court against licensing taverns, &c.—because Judge Pearce took the course which his own sense of propriety dictated, and refused to be dictated to, and bullied and abused into any course that might serve the purposes and gratify the domineering dispositions of a few individuals, the editor seems to have given loose to all the old bitter epithets in which he used to indulge towards Judge Pearce, when the Judge occupied a different position in society. He may abuse the Judge to his heart's content. He can effect nothing by it where Judge Pearce is well known, and his motives properly understood. Viper, ye gnaw a file.
