Mrs. A. R. Goldman, Chairman of the Navajo County Child Welfare Board was a Holbrook visitor on Tuesday afternoon to attend a special meeting of the board. Mrs. H. A. Guild, secretary of the State Board was present at the meeting. Through the efforts of the various county child welfare boards, 300 dependent children in the State have received State aid since last June. Some have been placed into permanent homes, ten are temporarily in the Tucson's Orphans home, and 8 per cent of all cases handled have been dismissed because of other provisions for their support. At present fifteen children of Navajo county are receiving State aid and applications for aid for fourteen others are now waiting final action by the State Board.
